Australian Rotary Health has been provided with government funding to enable a series of Mental Health Community Forums in rural areas with a focus on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
All forums must be organised through a Rotary Club in a rural area and must be arranged prior to 30th September this year.
Funding from Australian Rotary Health is available so the forum can be without cost to the club.
If you are interested in hosting a Community Forum, please contact our office.
This is a great opportunity to provide Community Service through your Rotary Club.  There is also the possibility of your club hosting Mental Health First Aid courses following the forum – again with no cost to your club.  Please speak to us about these limited time opportunities.

Brenden Petterson Northern NSW Regional Manager, CLONTARF FOUNDATION:

On behalf of the Clontarf Foundation, I want to thank you and the Rotary group for giving us the opportunity to complete the Clontarf presentation last night.

Ethan and Levi spoke about how much they enjoyed the evening on the way home, which is a great message for them to take back to the Quirindi Clontarf boys. The opportunity to provide the boys this experience and get them out of their comfort zones to develop their public speaking skills is an important one. As you are aware, it is these experiences that develop their confidence and self-esteem and ultimately will enhance the young men they are to continue to challenge themselves and striving towards their goals.
Thank you again for the opportunity, if you could share this thank you email with the Rotary group it would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to contact myself anytime if you would like any further information on Clontarf.

On Thursday night we had the Pride of Workmanship night.  This was also a very good night. The award recipients were Phillip Pitt and Cassandra Wendt.

On Friday night there was the opening at the Tamworth Gallery of Raymond McLaren’s Mechanisms:   The Art of the Engineer.  Congratulations Raymond this was also a wonderful event and John and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening along with other members of the Club.

On Saturday we are asked to assist with an estate garage sale with the proceeds of the bric-a-brac etc. being donated to Tamworth Rotary Club.  This was a very busy morning with $550.00 being donated to our Club.  We were also given a couple of freezers which will be put used for small goods leading up to the Country Music Festival an other events.  Thanks to Paul Cole, Andre Fritz, Bruce McCorkell, Wayne Woods for coming along and helping out.  Also a very big thank you to the family of the estate for there very generous gesture.

What a wonderful job our members and volunteers did providing affordable food options to the festival visitors.
The advanced planning and organisation has ensured this service runs very well. A huge thanks to the organising team – you are truly remarkable.
Sales have been good and we have gained a good reputation as selling delicious steak sandwiches and other food items.  We have many repeat customers. I had a gentleman ask me jokingly today if he would get a discount as he intended to buy a steak sandwich every day while the festival is on.
